A Slow Day

December 3, 2011
Slow day duck hunting turned into a fun day, it was well worth the wait! We only killed 6 ducks but had a blast while doing it. We got up to snow Saturday morning and went to Kelly's house to get him, the boat and headed out to the Res. As we were setting up there were ducks flyin everywhere and as usual we were late because I couldn't get my butt out of bed! When we finally got set up there wasn't much flyin. We had the occasional flock that would fly over but of course they were to high. Nine o'clock rolled around and we had only killed one duck it was a hen widgeon that was coming in the decoys just perfect and Kelly folded her. I was getting very impatient, as I usually do, because i was cold. Behind us we could here geese but couldn't pin point where they were at. They ended up coming in just north of us so we weren't able to get any shots off. Shortly after the geese came in we seen something flying in from the south but we couldn't figure out what it was, it ended up being a swan! A swan on the Res. I know right that's crazy!  It was really cool to see him lock down on the pond and glide across it as he went and landed on the north side where he went out of sight. An hour or so went by and I was still cold and ready to go, the whether cleared up so that helped but still, when you're cold, you're cold. I had told my dad that I wanted to leave and he told me to wait ten more minutes. About five minutes later we had three ducks coming in from the decoys just right! It was awesome! As soon as they rapped around the tree they were done for! Two Drake and a Hen Wood Duck! Those are rare enough but on the Res.! It was awesome made the day worth it!

*Always and Forever*

"I wanna spin around, feel the rain. I wanna feel alive, maybe a little insane. I wanna act with no regrets. I want to be me...nothing less. I wanna dance like nobodies looking and sing like nobody cares. I wanna have ambition with a little less fears. I wanna love fully with my whole heart. I don't want to leave this world until I know I've done my part. I wanna see the waves crash down and touch the stars out of reach. I wanna give you my heart and know it's yours to keep. I wanna see the future and know we'll be together. I wanna hold your and and whisper, I promise always and forever" -Jessica Powlas

~Hunting~

Not just anyone can be a hunter, it takes a certain kind. Its not for the squeamish or fearful or those with a weak mind. You've got to have just the right tools, and know just how to use them. You've got to know the rules, and never try to abuse them. Not just anyone can be a hunter, it requires certain skill, common sense and patience, and a hand thats steady and still.
Archery Deer Hunt 2011
With my sister Jaquel and Weston Hawkins. Where: Payson
This buck stepted out at 50 yards and gave me the perfect broad side shot! Awesome and fun hunt. It was fun to have two of my best friends with me on this hunt!

The Teen Commandments

"Don't let your parents down, they brought you up. Choose your companions with care, you become what they are. Be master of your habits, or they will master you. Treasure your time; don't spend it, invest it. Stand for something or you'll fall for anything. Select only a date that would make a good mate. See what you can do for others; not what they can do for you. Guard your thoughts, what you think is what you are. Don't fill up on this world's crumbs, feed your soul on living bread. Give your all for Christ; He gave His all for YOU!"

Why did the chicken cross the road?
To get to my lap on the other side!

~Horses~

One of my hobbies is Horseback Riding! I love being out on my horse. My favorite rides are up the canyon where its peaceful and quiet. I enjoy riding with my family and friends. This picture was taken during the summer of 2011. We moved our 4 horses from one pasture to another, I didn't want to walk so I hoped on. Our four horses names are: Mama (She's mine), Nibs, Scooter, and Mylo.

Take me as I am.. Or watch me as I walk away.

I might not be someones first choice, but I am a great choice. I may not be rich but I am valuable. I don't pretend to be someone I'm not, because I'm good at being me. I might not be proud of some of the things I've done in the past, but I am proud of who I am today. I may not be perfect but I don't need to be. Take me as I am, or watch me as I walk away.

You Might Be A Road Hunter If...

1. Your new gear this year consist of a bumper jack, lift kit and new tires.
2. You have so many stickers in your back window (like Bow Hunter, Elkohalic, Mathews, Hoyt, BowTech, Gladiator, Double Trouble) That you can't even see out of your rear view mirror.
3. You have covered a entire hunting unit before noon on the opening day.
4. The term spot in stock means, get your buddy in the bed of the truck, slowly slip your truck in gear and drive down the highway at less than 5 MPH. Your buddy jumps out as you pass the deer, while the deer stays fixated on the truck as you drive pass.
5. Your honey holes consist of I80, I15, and I70.
6. You strap your bow in your passenger seat with the seat belt and arrow knocked.
7. Glassing to you means looking out all of the windows in your truck that aren't covered with hunting stickers.
8. "A deer drive" literally means driving the county roads looking for deer.
9. You have hit more deer with our truck than you have shot.
10. If any of the above have mad you mad, you might be a road hunter.
11. If you spend $50 in gas to get to camp, but $150 while your there (on a three day hunt)

As We Grow Up...

As we grow up, we learn that even the one person that wasn't supposed to ever let us down, probably will. You'll have your heart broken and you'll break others' hearts. You'll fight with your best friend or maybe even fall in love with them, and you'll cry because time is flying by. So take too many pictures, laugh too much, forgive freely, and love like you've never been hurt. Life comes with no guarantees, no time outs, no second chances. you just have to live life to the fullest, tell someone what they mean to you and tell someone off, speak out, dance in the pouring rain, hold someone's hand, comfort a friend, fall asleep watching the sun come up, stay up late, be a flirt, and smile until your face hurts. Don't be afraid to take chances or fall in love and most of all, live in the moment because every second you spend angry or upset is a second of happiness you can never get back.

First Love...You'll Never Forget

**Life is too short to be anything but HAPPY. So KISS slowly, LOVE deeply, FORGIVE quickly. Take CHANCES and never have REGRETS, forget the PAST, but REMEMBER what it taught you.**
Weston and I met in High School. We had Mr. Thomsons, Biology class together. I was a Sophomore and he was a Senior. We dated for three years. I gotta say those were the best three years of my life! We always had fun together, I loved hanging out with him and his family. Thanks Weston <3

Country Girls...We Have More Fun!

2010 was a great year. My sister (Jaquel) and I found some good mud! It was an epic night with lots of laughs as usual. Just a little short story with it, we went to the gas station after to clean off the windows, because as you can see they were pretty much covered completely with mud and you couldn't hardly see out of em. Anyways, it was my friend Drea, my sister Jaquel and I. Okay, 3 girls, 2 Bronco II's, and 1 big muddy field, equals lots of mud! As we were washing the windows some guys drove by, whistled and yelled at us. We couldn't stop laughin it was one of the funnest nights I've had, and we have some good ones ;)

**Attitude**

The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life. Attitude, to me, is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, the education, the money, than circumstances, than failure, than successes, than what other people think or say or do. It is more important than appearance, giftedness or skill. It will make or break a company... a church... a home. The remarkable thing is we have a choice everyday regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day. We cannot change our past... we cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude.
